3 Best Adjustable Dumbbells in 2023

UPDATED: July 06, 2023

What do you call a New Year's resolution you don't follow through on? … Nothing new! Zinga! Look, guys, I've been there. It seems daunting to try and add something new to your life. You're a busy guy; you work, have a family, a dog, a cat, and a hobby. But no, I'm not talking about sex; I'm talking about working out! You need a good set of adjustable dumbbells to get things started in the new year. There are hundreds of different exercises you can do with a set of dumbbells and making them adjustable just speeds things up and cuts overall costs.

I have been working out for around 2 years now and I will say, the first 6 months were the hardest. You feel like you are doing all this hard work and you are not seeing results. Guys, I can promise you this, if you keep at it for any extended amount of time, you WILL see results. Results take time, hard work, and dedication though. When you see a guy or girl in the real world that is ripped, that body was not handed to them, there is no cheat-code. But, if you put in the time with the weights, I know you will love what you see in the mirror.

Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbells

If you're looking for an adjustable dumbbell that meets your needs while not breaking the bank, this is the set for you. You can adjust this set in 5 lb. increments all the way up to 50 lbs. per dumbbell. They are easy to adjust quickly, you just turn the handle to the increment you want and lift them out of the cradle. The handles have a soft grip, which is easy on your hands while you workout.

Why we like the Core Fitness ® Adjustable Dumbbells

If you've been working out for a while like myself and you're ready to up your fitness game with adjustable dumbbells, this is the set. The feature to price ratio is on point with these dumbbells. For the price, you get two dumbbells and two cradles to set them in. The cradles allow for easy weight changing and storage of the dumbbells while not in use. The only thing stopping you from moving to the next level is not having these adjustable dumbbells.

Pros

Spinning the handle to select the weight is easy and intuitive.
Can be adjusted in 5 lb. increments.
Premium soft hand-grips.

Cons

Weights rattle a little when lifting.
Sometimes selecting heavier weights can stick.
Weights should not be slammed or dropped.

ProForm Adjustable Dumbbells

So you want to get some adjustable dumbbells, don't need all the bells and whistles, and don't want to spend an arm and a leg. The ProForm Adjustable Dumbells hit the mark perfectly. You cannot dial these in like the other dumbbells, but don't let that stop you from purchasing these. They adjust from 10 lbs. to 50 lbs. which can be hard if you need an in-between weight, but they will get you off to your fitness jouney with no problems.

ProForm Adjustable Dumbbell

Why we like the ProForm Adjustable Dumbbells

Ok, these are a great set of adjustable dumbbells, the main drawback is that they don't adjust in 5 lb. increments. When you're starting your fitness journey, this may not be necessarily required as the main goal is to hit the weights 3-5 days a week. Rather than a twist mechanism to change the weights, you have to slide an adjustment on both ends of each weight, not a big deal, but does make switching weights more time-consuming. The price-point is right on this set of adjustable dumbbells to get you going in the home-gym, so don't hesitate to pick these up.

Pros

Great Product, simple to use.
Easy to Switch weights.
Sturdy Design.

Cons

Have to be increased in 10 lb incriments
Shouldn't adjust weights outside trays
Weights should not be slammed or dropped.

NÜOBELL Adjustable Dumbbells

The NÜOBELL Adjustable Dumbbells are the last set of dumbbells you will ever need. These are the slickest adjustable dumbbells I have ever seen or used, period. These adjustable dumbbells are in a category of their own. The look and feel of these is like no other dumbbell you have seen or used, I can promise you that. If you have been working out for some time and are ready to take your fitness game up into the stratosphere, you want these in your arsenal.

Why we like the NÜOBELL Adjustable Dumbbells

These weights are swiss-engineered with the smoothness of the weight-switching mechanism in mind. You won't get any clanking or weight shifting with these, they just work all the time. The weight plates are made out of cast-iron, like real weights which adds to the great feeling and balance of these adjustable dumbbells. I have never seen or used another set of adjustable dumbbells like these, and I have used many. These adjust in 5 lb. increments so you can hit any weight you need or want from 5 lbs. to 80 lbs, per dumbbell! You can easily save over $3,000 dollars by buying these instead of an actual set of non-adjustable dumbbells. You want premium, these are them!

Pros

Actual cast-iron plates
Real steel grips with knurling
80 lb. max weight per dumbbell

Cons

Should not drop these, but you probably could
